To Nina.......there is a purpose to this. We might not ever realize it...My son took Danny Freeman home. That was a wake up call to all of us in Washington. I do have religion, but I also do believe in fate. There is a purpose..My son knew Damion, I am sure there are others that read this site that have family members that knew him too. Remember always that you have my email...We have all met here, that is a good thing, there is a reason. Take care, please. Diane

Hi to everybody, it is so nice to read that all of you are with your soldiers again. Unfortunatelly, I didnīt have so much luck and was not able to welcome my friend Damion Campbell back home. He rests in peace now and I know he is good wherever he is right now. I think about him and the times we shared alot. I miss him alot but it is also very good to hear that families are completed now. Just donīt forget the ones who didnīt make their way back home. Enjoy every second with our heros. Take care!

Hello everyone, I am so glad to see so many postings from the loved ones who went and visited Italy. Isn't it a beautiful country? Aren't the people wonderful !?! I am so glad so many came back safely and my heart is with those who welcomed their sons home in a different way. I have been where you are. I would also like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and cards during my mother's illness. She lost her battle with cancer on Easter Sunday. She was well loved and will be greatly missed. She was the epitome of a military wife. She raised 3 daughters while my father was in the Marine Corps and saw the family thru Korea and Vietnam. She was a great lady. If you thought I was strong - you should have met my mom !! She is at peace now and with her eldest grandson, Michael. Again thank you so much for being there for me. And thank you for sharing your lives with me this past year, you will never know what it meant to me. Love to all of you and only best wishes to "my" Sky Soldiers.

Spent 7 days in Italy with my son and his friends. Had a wonderful time !!! The guys are traveling all over, touring the city, & partying--just enjoying themselves. Met alot of the guys---too many to remember all their names. Spent time at "Club Venito" shooting pool and "the bull". They are a bunch of great guys. Alot of them are looking forward to getting out of the Army this summer and returning home to family. If you don't get messages from your loved one it is because they are having too much fun--when they are not working, they are either partying or sleeping. We still need to keep them all in our prayers as they each embark on new careers. They have been through alot and deserve the down time they have right now.

I am so glad to see postings on the site that our guys are finally getting to the states. It warms my heart. I miss coming here daily to see the new postings and sharing the ups and downs with the other families. I to will soon have everything right with the world. The middle of May are my son's last days of active duty. It has been four long years all in the 173rd. Thank you Mr. Bradley for your time and service to the rest of us, don't know how I would have got through Iraq and Afghanistan deployments without all of you. Although we will no longer be a part of the 173rd family I will still come here often. Thank you all!

If your friend was in the 503rd when they got to the barracks there was no computer lines in the rooms. "IF" I remember correctly my son said they had to order them. I do know they did not have the lines when they got to the barracks because I was there and spent some time visiting my son and his roomates in the barracks. To answer their email they would have had to go to Davis Hall or the library and access the internet to get there email first then answer them. That could be the delay or problem. Hope that helps. We got our son home last night and now I can identify with what Michelle said---yes, all seems right with the world. God has answered our prayers and blessed our family. It was so good to wrap my arms around him, give him a hug--randomly--and to look at him, touch him, and listen to every word. I will treasure these moments. Life is precious and more so now than ever before. God Bless Our Soldiers. Kathy

Hi All Just wanted to say my son is home for 2.5 weeks. He looks great spent a week with a buddy in Ca. spending all his cash. He spent a night in the Beverly Hills Hotel for 600.00. I said "Didn't they give you a military discount?" I guess not. Well its great to have him home. I made hom bring home his Class A's so I could get a picture of him in it with all the ribbons and rank etc.. He's watching hockey right now with his Dad. They are both angry at the Bruins for not making the playoffs. Its cold here in Mass so I have a fire going and tonite all seems right with the world. I hope this leave goes by slow. Bye for now Michele

Just returned from 12 days with my son and Americas "Finest". It was truly an honor and pleasure to meet many of the men, mostly from the 508th but others also, to be able to shake their hand and say 'thank you'. What a fantastic group of men and women. Thank you Mister Bradley for this site so the families could feel connected in some way to their soldier and the other families. For those who gave "all", you will live in our hearts always. My son will be leaving the Army in a month and a half after almost 5 years with the 173rd. I will continue to follow the Herd as much as possible in the future. Best of luck to all and a job well done.

I just received junk mail from some person with a "uk" web address talking about a job & saying my name came from a Chamber of Commerce list. I looked at every other address it was sent to & noticed that they were all familiar from postings on this site. Unfortunately, this is not the first unwanted email I have received from posting my email address on here in the past (I wish I never did). I am posting this message for you all to be aware of such an email in your inbox of whatever address you have posted on this site. It was from a "person" by the name of "Petters Douglas". It is a shame that we are here in support of loved ones & we can still fall victim to rude people all over the world. Please be careful of where you post your email address!!!

Thank you Michele D and Operation AC. I just got home from work and I check all my web sites to see the actions that our American Soldiers went thru today in Iraq. And I still like to read about the 173rd. My son, SSG. Mario Singer, will always have a special part in his heart with the guys that he served with on his first tour in Iraq and he will for the rest of his life. And I as is mother will always have a special part in her heart also. Welcome back home to each and every one of you. And a special "Thank You" to all the family members that went thru their own war. A very proud mother of an Army Son, Suzann Singer

Suzann, I read your post and I remember feeling just as you do now. Its like I'm holidng my breath each time my son is deployed and each time I hear from him or about him I get a little air. When its close for him coming home I am panicked that something will go wrong and I don't really take a breath until I hear his voice telling me he is back. Sound familiar? Rest assured there is no one on thie site who will ever forget their are soldiers still deployed and will support them in anyway we can. You hang in there your son is on the home stretch now and you'll be able to breathe soon too. God Bless Michele
